Anesthesia: General anesthesia is a sleep-like state
with generalized muscle relaxation and pain relief. When your
pet is admitted for surgery, pre-anesthetic bloodwork will be
completed which greatly reduces the risks of anesthesia by
evaluating the health of your pets liver and kidneys and to meet
the specific needs of your pet. There is always a small
amount of risk anytime anesthesia is administered, however, we use
the safest anesthesia available because it does not
cause irregular heartbeat and is quickly expelled from the
body. The pre-surgical exam and bloodwork allows us to
proceed with confidence, knowing the anesthetic risk is
minimized.
*
Radiology: We offer a variety of radiological services,
including oral radiographs as well as OFA
certification.
*
Electrocardiography Services: We work in conjunction with
the Veterinary Heart Institute to ensure the latest technology with
cardiac specialists. Routine, emergency, and
pre-operative EKG and Blood Pressure readings are
available on site.
*
Dentistry: Severe dental tartar and decay can lead to
other internal complications, such as liver and heart
problems. Animals that have annual dental cleaning live
approximately 20% longer than animals that are not treated.
Our dental services include, but are not limited to, a full oral
exam by the veterinarian, oral surgery, dental cleaning and tooth
extraction. Under general anesthesia all dental tartar is
removed with an ultrasonic scaler and treated as needed.
Teeth are then polished and rinsed with an antibacterial
wash. Palatible toothpaste, brushes and CET Dental Care
products are also available in the
reception area.
*
Pharmacy: We are a full service pharmacy offering all
regulartory medications, heartworm prevention, parasite control
products, oral care products, medicated shampoos, nutritional
suppliments, and behavior modifiers. We can often have your
pets daily medication compounded into the flavor of your pets
choice.
* Pain
Management: Veterinary patients experience pain under
any circumstance in which a human would feel pain.
Uncontrolled pain may lead to prolonged healing while your pet is
in our care. We offer pain relief during surgical procedures,
as well as to animals that are in chronic pain, such as
arthritis. With a physical exam and an individualized
treatment plan, there are a variety of options to ease your pets
discomfort.
